During my years of making art I have explored a variety of styles, as my ongoing research into ‘the abstract’. The abstract I see within nature has direct links into this, whether its the arrangement of plants in a bushland or microscopic plant arrangements. Observing leaf net-veins and leaf structure are areas that have direct links to my field work, which included plant Identification.
2007 was an important year during this period, I worked in the Mangkaja Aboriginal Art Centre in Western Australia. In general, this was a fabulous experience, a new environment, and for my art it taught me ‘don’t be precious‘.
