2017: With full-time studio painting my palette has matured

During 2017 we continued living in Sydney and I was painting full-time in my St Leonards studio. With full-time painting my palette has become more consistent and more colourful and my work more abstract. I am approach painting with a new found freedom and expanded knowledge from my studies. In July I started my Master of Art at UNSWAD (COFA), this study has started to unravel concepts I wasn’t aware of within my art practice. Drawing and painting on paper is fast, free and invites chance into my mark making while experimenting with collage and image transfer further extends this excitement.
Over Xmas 2016 and New Year, I camped at Tia Falls making drawings and plein-air paintings of the spectacular gorges, rocks and waterfalls some of which I worked into paintings at the studio.
