For me these abstract paintings have parallels with the processes in nature, layers on layers they often start with chance or random marks. The process of making my art reflects the intricate multi-layered systems throughout natural areas, where the colours and marks I use respond to what has gone before, often covering and blending to produce new and unexpected compositions.
