the warm/cool change – is my environmental comment, using the impermanence/partial truth of shadows.
overall concept,
1- concrete and bitumen are the building blocks of our society yet are in opposition to the natural environment.
2- cool/blue shadows being ‘normal’, while the warm shadows suggest a concept of burning skies (extreme global warming)
3- leaf shadows/blemishes represent memories of the natural environment.
4- the eternal knot is used here referring to dualities: light/shadow, wisdom/method, natural/manmade, concrete/bitumen.
5- the partial reproduction of the eternal knot reflects our understanding of our future.
